On May 23, 2017, Zhenglong Wu, Deputy Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Nanjing, met with the delegation of Hong Kong research tour led by the Chairman of Freetech, Mr. Weibing Shi. Yong Chen, Xuepeng Yang--Nanjing Municipal Party Committee members, Huang Lan--the Vice Mayor and other leaders attended the meeting.

Zhenglong Wu, the Party Secretary, representing the Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government, welcomed the Hong Kong delegation group, led by Mr. Weibin Shi, and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Nanjing.

Zhenglong Wu hopes that both parties should grasp the development opportunity of “the Belt and Road Initiative”, create “International Cultural Center of Silk Road” and corporate to complement advantages in strategy of Going Global and Bringing in. It can strengthen the communications between Nanjing and Hongkong, and advance the establishment of “the Belt and Road Initiative”, together with the “Road Doctor”.

The meeting not only demonstrates the government’s commitment to “the Belt and Road Initiative” and the determination of building “International Cultural Center of Silk Road”, but also implies that the “Road Doctor” will play a significant role. Through these actions, the multilateral communication can be highly promoted, and economic development among countries of “the Belt and Road Initiative” can be realized.

The meeting among the government and Hong Kong enterprises shows that the government of Nanjing and Jiangsu Province pay high attention the Hong Kong consortium led by Mr. Wei-bin Shi, Chairman of Freetech. It illustrates that the government will greatly support the cooperation and communication between Nanjing and Hong Kong, thus facilitating the development of mutual culture, economy, science and technology.

Jiangsu is famous for its innovation and economy which is in the first rank of China. As the provincial capital located in an important geographical position, Nanjing plays an important role in this cooperation with HK consortium, which shows that China is currently actively advocating the macro-policy and will do its best to promote communication, leading “the Belt and Road Initiative”.  

Nanjing locates in the core position of Yangtze River Delta Area. Its water, land and air transportation networks and rich education resources serve as strong bases for the economic and social development. Meanwhile, Hong Kong is an international financial center which has the huge advantage of free capital flow. Through mutual exchange and cooperation, both can achieve complementary advantages, thus facilitating industrial construction and economic development of Nanjing and its surrounding areas. Now Freetech has set its subsidiary corporation in Nanjing National High-tech Development Zone, and invested in Nanjing Jiangxinzhou. It is expected that the output of new manufacturing location will reach 2 billion after its implementation, which can effectively promote local economic growth and job openings.

Nanjing government and the Hong Kong delegation aim to develop the “International Cultural Center of Silk Road” which will present different cultures of these nations along the silk road. They hope to seek common values among these countries and promote exchanges and cooperation between different cultures. At the same time, the construction of the “International Cultural Center of Silk Road” is in line with Freetech’s aim which is to explore overseas markets and play the role of “Road Doctor” in the strategic planning. Such policy can provide great chance to Chinese enterprises, especially industrial enterprises like Freetech, to understand more about foreign culture.

As history shows, new technologies can improve the society.
